Meet Mr. Manners, Willie Parsons

Hi, my name is William (Willie) Parsons, and I am the owner of Synthetic Motorsports. I have been in the synthetic lubricants and bolt on replacement parts space since 2009, after buying my first Duramax. Using my forum name, MrManners, I initially started out offering AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants on the Duramax Forum.

While the initial thought was to have an AMSOIL business as a hobby, it quickly turned into a part-time job in the mornings and evenings before and after work. Since then, I slowly grew my business into what Synthetic Motorsports is today.

Because I want you to know who you’re buying from, I’d like to share a little more about me. I was born in December 1969 and raised in Oscoda, Michigan. I have 6 years Aircraft Maintenance as C-130 Crew Chief, followed by more than 20 years as Command Post controller, training manager, and superintendent, and, finally, the Command Post Career Field Manager for the Air Force Reserves. I retired from the Air Force in 2015 with nearly 27 years of service to our nation.

When I am not working, I enjoy many things: outdoor adventures, cooking, and a good cigar...to name a few. I am married to my beautiful wife Julie and have a teenage daughter.

I have prided myself on providing excellent customer service to every Synthetic Motorsports customer or visitor. That philosophy carries over to our sales staff. If, for any reason you would like to reach me, you can call (888)-563-5143 or email me at willie.parsons@syntheticmotorsports.org

Thanks for visiting and God bless.

Synthetic Lubricant Information

Synthetic lubricant verses conventional lubricant usage has become a hot topic over recent years due to the increasingly improving quality of conventional and synthetic blend lubricants. New technology has made it possible for manufacturers of conventional lubricants to improve the overall quality and consistency of their lubricant additive packages.

However, conventional lubricants are still refined and developed in such a way that leaves the molecular structures very unstable. Even though they will stand up better than older versions, they will lose viscosity and total base number (TBN) levels much quicker than the synthetics for the given applications.

Full synthetic lubricants are also not created equal. When comparing synthetic lubricant brands, it is important to research the recommended service intervals. A manufacturer's recommended service intervals can give a customer an idea of how long their lurbicants are designed to last. When a manufacturer sets their advertised service interval limits, they do so according to lab and real world testing results that have shown that their synthetics will last a certain number of miles before viscosity and TBM break down results in lack of overall protection.

AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants offer the highest level of protection, service interval length and cost effectiveness of all of the synthetic manufacturers out there. AMSOIL pioneered the synthetic lubricants industry in 1972 and has remained an industry leader in the research and development of synthetic lubricants for every possible application.

Check the sections below for more information about AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants. Feel free to CONTACT US to receive help finding the information you need for any application.

Frequently Asked Questions

A. We’re sorry, we’ll take care of our mistake, and it won’t cost you anything other than some inconvenience. However, we can’t be responsible if we shipped you the part you ordered and it just didn’t fit.

A. We make every effort to process your order it within one business day. However, orders placed late in the day, special orders, direct ship parts, and temporarily out of stock parts may take longer. We’ll send a tracking number to your email as soon as we have it.

A. Please inspect your package for damage before accepting or signing for delivery. Refuse to accept the delivery if a driver attempts to give you a damaged package.

If you refuse a damaged package or a damaged part was delivered, take a photo of the box, then promptly call the shipping / courier company to start the claim process. Please also contact us at (888) 563-5143, so we can begin the process of getting you a replacement.

A. Manufacturer policies vary regarding product warranty and handling of defective items. Some defective returns may require manufacturer approval and, in certain cases, the manufacturer may require you to work directly with them to authorize the return. In the event that you purchase a defective item from Synthetic Motorsports, we will do everything in our power to assist you.

A. The short answer is they don’t.

The long answer? It’s actually against federal law to void a warranty for use of an aftermarket part. The Magnuson-Moss warranty act, enacted in 1975, makes it illegal for auto manufacturers to void a warranty simply because the owner of the vehicle adds an aftermarket product to a vehicle. The law states that unless the manufacturer can prove the problem was caused by an aftermarket part, they have to repair the vehicle.

A. We try to include fitment information in each product description, but if you still aren’t sure call us! We’re happy to help you find the exact part you need.

A. A universal part is not a direct part, which means that its specifications (measurements, alignments) are not exactly the same as the one your car requires. It will fit any year, make, and model, but you might need to do some modifications to the part in order to make it fit. This applies to non-accessory items like body parts, brake parts, suspension parts, etc.

To make sure that the universal part will fit your car exactly, take note of your car’s specs carefully before making any modifications. Most of our products come with detailed, easy-to-follow instructions to help you make the necessary adjustments correctly.

A. Driver’s side is L and passenger’s side is R.

A. You can call us at (888) 563-5143 during our normal business hours.

A. You can give us a call anytime between 9 AM EST to 6 PM EST. You may also send us an email anytime for a quick answer at sales@syntheticmotorsports.com.

A. Submit your e-mail address through the “Get Exclusive Email Deals” link on our site. As far as manufacturer rebates are concerned, just download and print out the rebate form from the manufacturer’s site. Fill out the form and follow the redemption instructions. You do not need to notify Synthetic Motorsports unless that is specified in the directions. Most of the time, rebates can only be sent by mail to the address listed on the rebate form.

A. At this time, we are required only to collect sales tax from customers who reside in Georgia. However, the sales tax rules for online sellers continues to evolve, so this policy may change.

A. No. There is not a switch for the LML, and there most likely won't be one.

A. In all likelihood, there is nothing wrong with your tune. Most of the time the DSP5 switch doesn't work because:

  1. the pins are in the wrong holes, OR
  2. you haven't pushed them in far enough to make contact with the ECM itself. Be sure to push the pins in so they are touching the bottom of the ECM plug.

A. Yes. PPEI custom tuning and EFI Live VIN Licenses are non-refundable. Special order items, replacement parts, items that have been installed, obsolete or discontinued products are not eligible for returns.

A. First, contact us for a return authorization number at (888) 563-5143 or here. Then, ship the part(s) back to us in the original package. Refer to the first question for more details. Be sure to buy insurance for the return shipment because Synthetic Motorsports is not responsible for returns that get lost or damaged in transit.

A. We’ll send you the right part ASAP. If you want to make a shortage claim, you must call us within three days of package receipt. Call us at (888) 563-5143, and we’ll set you up.

A. We’re sorry if this happens. The procedure is like the return process above. Start by contacting us for a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number at (888) 563-5143 or here. Please contact us with any part questions you have before ordering. We’re happy to help.

A. You have up to 30 business days after the date of purchase to start the return/exchange process. We’ll accept your return if it meets all of the criteria, which is outlined on this page.

A. If your return meets the criteria (above), you should be able to return the part. Please note: PPEI custom tuning and EFI Live VIN Licenses are non-refundable. Special order items, replacement parts, items that have been installed, obsolete or discontinued products are not eligible for returns. Returns without an RMA are never accepted.

A. All returns may be subject to a 10% restocking fee. Restocking fees are charged for any items returned with complaints that are not the result of error on our part. We go to great lengths to assure that the item we ship is undamaged and perfectly functional. Restocking fees are generally used to deal with the costs incurred with your return. In the long term, restocking fees help keep costs down, allowing us to offer our items at the best price possible since we don’t pass along the costs to every consumer by spreading it out through higher prices.

A. Yes. We suggest you pay insurance and/or get a tracking number for your return. Synthetic Motorsports is not responsible for parts lost during the return shipment.

A. Credits will be issued upon receipt, inspection, and approval of the returned items, net of any applicable restocking fees. Please allow 5 business days from the date we receive the returned product to process the RMA and issue the appropriate credit.

A. Items that do not function correctly or are flawed in a material way are considered defective. Manufacturer policies vary regarding product warranty and handling of defective items. Some defective returns may require manufacturer approval and, in certain cases, the manufacturer may require you to work directly with them to authorize the return. In the event that you purchase a defective item from Synthetic Motorsports, we will do everything in our power to ensure that the item is replaced as quickly as possible, subject to the guidelines of each manufacturer’s policy. Please be prepared to provide as much information as necessary, including pictures of defective items when requesting an RMA # for a defective item. Defective items will not be subject to the 15% restocking fee.

A. Truck shipments should be inspected at the time of delivery. Any obvious damage to the shipment should be noted on the Bill of Lading. Upon unpacking the shipment, you must make any claim for product damage during shipping directly to the trucking company. For damaged UPS or FedEx shipments, please contact Synthetic Motorsports, and we will handle the claim on your behalf.

A. Unfortunately, no. That’s why we strongly recommend buying insurance for anything you ship to us.

A. It’s your responsibility to inspect your package for damage before accepting or signing for delivery. Refuse to accept the delivery if a driver attempts to give you a damaged package.

If you refuse a damaged package or one was dropped off, take a photo of the box, then promptly call the shipping / courier company to start the claim process. Please also contact us at (888) 563-5143, so we can begin the process of getting you a replacement.

A. You can’t return a part you didn’t buy for a refund unless you have the original invoice. However, we can usually do an exchange. Contact us at (888) 563-5143 to discuss.

A. Manufacturer policies vary regarding product warranty. If you bought a part from Synthetic Motorsports and believe it has a warranty problem, contact us at (888) 563-5143 to discuss.

A. On some parts, we’re discounting the selling price on the assumption that you’re going to send us your old part. This old part is called a “core.” The core charge is something we add to the sale price of your part, then refund as soon as we get your old part.

So, a $100 part with a $50 core charge will be sold to you for $150. When you send us the old core, we’ll refund you the $50 core charge.
